# Stages in Synode Visualizer

Stages are a core structural component of the Synode Visualizer, allowing 3D content to be organized into distinct presentation and interaction contexts within the same Visualizer project.

Each Stage can define how 3D content is presented, including the spatial arrangement of objects and the camera view. By using multiple Stages, content can be structured across different areas, states, viewpoints, or levels of detail while remaining part of a continuous Visualizer experience.

Stages are displayed as thumbnails in the Stage bar at the bottom of the Editor.

***

### Create a New Stage

To create a new Stage:

1. Select New Stage from the Stage bar. A new Stage will be added to the Visualizer and displayed as a thumbnail.
2. Select the new Stage to begin configuring its content.
3. Adjust the 3D content and camera view as needed.
4. Use the Stage controls to update the camera and object positions.

Each Stage can be configured independently, allowing the same Visualizer to present 3D content in different spatial contexts or states.

### Configure a Stage

After creating a Stage, configure how the 3D content should be presented within that Stage.

The primary Stage configuration controls include Set Camera and Refresh Position.

#### Set Camera

Set Camera assigns the current camera view to the selected Stage.

To set the camera:

1. Select the Stage you want to edit.
2. Navigate within the 3D Viewer to adjust the viewpoint.
3. Pan, rotate, or zoom until the desired view is reached.
4. Select Set Camera.

The current view will be saved as the camera view for that Stage.

Setting a dedicated camera view for each Stage provides control over how the 3D content is presented when users navigate to that Stage.

#### Refresh Position

Refresh Position returns the camera to the most recently saved view for the selected Stage.

If the camera has been moved, rotated, or zoomed after using Set Camera, select Refresh Position to return to the saved camera view.
